Families and Scholars,

We deeply regret to inform you that T.R.U.T.H. Preparatory Academy will not be open for the 2017-2018 school year.

Why is the school closing?
During the 2016-2017 school year we experienced a 35% decline in enrollment.  This had a significant impact on the school’s budget.  While we saw a modest increase in the student enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year, it was not enough to cover the expenses required to provide a quality education for scholars.

Why is this information being communicated to us just before school starts?
The Board saw an increase in student achievement during the latter part of this past school year.  It was evident that TPA was adding value for its scholars and families.  The Board and administrative staff have been working since the end of the school year and throughout the summer to ensure all possibilities were exhausted before deciding it would be in the best interest of the scholars and their families to close the school.

Where should I enroll my student for the 2017-2018 school year?
There are 35 charter schools in St. Paul.  A list of those can be accessed at, then click on the filter to narrow to St. Paul.

You can also consider your assigned school in your home school district.  Please visit your home district’s web site for more information about how to enroll for the 2017-2018 school year.  St. Paul Public Schools has a placement center to help you apply for school and select the school of your preference.  The phone number for the placement center is 651-632-3763.

How can I access my student’s school records from the 2016-2017 school year?
We will send your student’s school records to your home district.
